Dear Parents

GRADE 7 ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY (FLEAMARKET)

Our Grade 7 Learners will be hosting an Entrepreneurs’ Day on 02 September 2022. The cost of items on sale will range from R2.00 to R50.00. Learners must please bring along some spending money on the day to support the Grade Sevens in this project. All learners must attend school in full school uniform – it is not a civvies day.

LATE COMING

We are concerned about the number of learners arriving late for school again.

According to school policy, these learners will be put onto detention or be suspended from school for continuous late coming.

Please make every effort to get your child to school on time i.e. by 07:45. If your child uses transport, please speak to the transport provider. Latecomers cause disruption to the normal order of the day, which is not fair to the rest of the class.

CONDOLENCES

It is with great sadness that we have to share the passing of Mrs Van Winkel’s husband. Our prayers go out to her and the family. We pray that God will comfort and guide them through this difficult time.

SCHOOL FEES

School fees must be settled in full by 31 October 2022.

All accounts without approved arrangements will be summonsed.

NO further extension will be granted

BIG WALK PRIZEGIVING

Please ensure that all Big Walk sponsorship cards and monies are handed in to the class teacher by the end of Term 3 in order for your child to qualify to win a prize. We need to finalise our invitations for the prizegiving event.

FOUNDATION PHASE CONCERT

Our Foundation phase learners (Gr. 1, 2 and 3) have been hard at work preparing for their concert which takes place from Monday, 26 September through to Thursday, 29 September 2022.

A letter explaining the procedure will be sent home.

NB: Learners participating in the concert must attend on all four nights.

UPDATE OF CONTACT DETAILS

This is an appeal to all parents/guardians to kindly ensure that you keep the school informed of any change in your contact numbers (cell phone or land line numbers for work and home).

It is important that your records reflect the most recent contact numbers so that the school can easily access you in case of an emergency.

APPOINTMENTS WITH TEACHERS

Please note that teachers will only be able to see parents before or after school and not during school time. Once an appointment has been confirmed, kindly keep the appointment. If for some reason you are unable to keep the appointment, please inform the school as soon as possible in order to reschedule.

DRESS CODE

We are seriously concerned about some of our learners’ dress and appearance. We find many learners are not abiding to the School’s Code of Conduct regarding the Dress Code. We also request parents to please see to your children’s appearance before sending them to school. It really lifts the moral level of the school if our learners represent us with pride.

"MY SCHOOL" CARD

We would like to thank those parents who support the school by swiping their

"My School" cards at shops that are registered with this programme.

By remembering to swipe your card, no matter how small your purchase, you ensure that our school receives a donation on your behalf from the My School Organisation.

SPORTS ROUND UP

CRICKET

Our u/13 cricket team played against

Laerskool M.W De Wet on Tuesday, 02 August 2022. Although we did not win the match our team played exceptionally well and gained a lot of experience. Our u/11 team played on the 03 August 2022 against Laerskool M.W. De Wet and won by 7 wickets. Well done boys.

Then our cricket teams played against Alston primary school this week. Well done to our u/11 team who won by 37 runs.
